Position of the sun in the galaxy – Local Bubble

The solar system in the Galaxy (Milky Way)

The solar system is located in our galaxy, the Milky Way. The various groups of stars in the Milky Way are immersed in a “cloud” of more or less dense gas and dust.

Our solar system was in the Local Interstellar Cloud (LIC) for about 100,000 years, the LIC cloud has a density of 0.3 atoms per cubic cm and a temperature of 7000°K. The solar system has exited the LIC cloud and is now in the Local Bubble, a cloud that has a density of 0.05 atoms per cm3 (other scientific publications say it is even less dense). This transition has been happening for more of 100 years. I ascertained this period of time by seeing all the evidence collected on the next page but you will find the most disparate numbers around ranging from hundreds to tens of thousands of years. Unfortunately, the enormous number of “papers” that are published every year confuses everyone.

What does this mean? It would seem, from scientists' analyses, that the greatest “danger” is only the increase in X-rays and Gamma rays. Because, since the density is 1/6, the X and Gamma rays will be 6 times intense than before. Still following the discussion on supernovae made in the previous sheets, in addition to X-rays and Gamma rays, charged particles traveling in the interstellar medium must also be considered. These particles come from the center of the galaxy and from supernovae.

The increasing number of cosmic rays, obviously, increases all the effects we have seen in the previous pages. We are always led to think that these astronomical phenomena, being far from us, cannot influence the Earth and our lives. Instead they influence in a notable way and on the next page I will explain in detail what changes cause this increase in cosmic radiation.

A – The sun is exactly in the yellow point between the local cloud and the G cloud. The density difference we still have in this case increases up to 6 (or more) times that of interstellar radiation and cosmic rays.

B – The local bubble reworked by the ESA space project. It was clearly seen how the Sun is located in an “empty” point in the Galaxy.

Anomalies caused by the Local Bubble

The increase in cosmic rays caused by the new position in which the Solar System finds itself creates many anomalies to which we were not previously accustomed.

For example, we have already seen that over the last hundred years there has been an increase in earthquakes and volcanic events. To this day they continue to increase and cause natural disasters. One of the latest events was the eruption of the Tonga volcano where dust and a large amount of water vapor reached the Earth's stratosphere with implications on the climate.

Furthermore, we are all “experiencing” an increase in environmental temperatures: years ago temperatures around 30 degrees centigrade were considered “hot” and only occurred in the months of July and rarely in August. Today it reaches 30 degrees in many European countries and North America, even in the spring months and then increases considerably in July and August and reaches temperatures of 36-37 degrees for many days and even reaches 40° some times.

The shift of the Earth's magnetic pole does not affect our lives, we do not realize it but what is happening is that for decades the pole has been moving faster and faster. This leads us to think that, if the movement continues, one day, not too far away, the earth could swap poles with disastrous consequences.

Climate disasters are also to be counted as one of the consequences of the increase in cosmic rays. We have become accustomed, unfortunately for many years now, to accepting disasters such as floods or fires as something almost “normal”. Every season we witness radical changes in the Earth's climate compared to those we were used to.

Even the planets of our solar system are “affected”. Having no atmosphere or “strong” magnetic fields like the Earth's, the planets of the solar system fully receive the flow of cosmic rays. This causes flares at the poles of Saturn and Jupiter and increasingly powerful storms with winds reaching 400 km per hour.

Last but not least, we are seeing an increase in viruses and, in the case of animals, we are painfully witnessing the deaths of thousands and thousands of animal bodies both in the sea, in the sky and on land. At least every week we hear of birds that have suddenly fallen, as if gripped by a common disease, or of fish that have washed up dead, always by the thousands. This increase in viruses and diseases is caused by cosmic rays.

In the next chapters all these effects will be described in more detail.

Summary of the Local Bubble

This “Local Bubble” theory consistently explains why earthquakes and volcanic eruptions have increased in the last 100 years. It also explains Global Warming and the natural disasters we are witnessing.

The increase in cosmic rays penetrating the atmosphere are changing life on Earth as we know it. All the planets in the Solar system are also changing on a planetary level and last but not least, our Sun too.

A more detailed explanation of each of these changes can be found on the next page. So I invite you to read the page that lists all the consequences:
